The Philadelphia Coalition on Children and Opioids

The Problem

Welcome!

The Philadelphia Coalition on Children and Opioids has come together to develop a strategy to confront the impact of opioid use on child welfare-involved families

Parental substance use is the second leading cause for child welfare-involved home removal, and nationally, it is responsible for over one-third of all foster care placements. The Coalition believes that, collectively, we can impact opioid abuse in families and assure that the child welfare and other systems of care are prepared to care for these children and families in the event that opioid misuse affecting families occurs.
